It’s hard to be an over-thinker, I know. Over-thinkers are always caught in their thoughts; they think even about the thinking itself. These people analyze everything to the tiniest details. No break. No relaxing. It’s exhausting and drives them crazy.
Being an over-thinker with a sensitive heart is even harder. They go through difficulties about making a final decision, struggle with anxiety, and experience feelings of self-doubt and guilt.
Overthinker’s mind hardly rests; they are daydreamers and night owls. Even though physically present, they breathe in their deepest thoughts and live in their dreams. More or less, over-thinkers tend to lose touch with reality. Reality can hurt. Reality can be brutal. Reality sucks. Often. That’s why they try to escape it hiding among their thoughts.
A night sleep becomes an issue for them because they can’t get rid of their thoughts. Over-thinkers focus on past and future; their thoughts haunt them anytime and everywhere. Therefore, they can’t enjoy the beauty of the present moment.
Overthinkers observe the whole universe; millions of questions occupy their mind, and they constantly search for answers. They want to find the meaning of everything. Sometimes, they feel so connected to the universe, and sometimes, the world around them becomes a strange, lonely place.
The world for these people is black or white – no colors, nothing in between. They don’t have time for half-hearted things; over-thinkers are either happy or sad, “yes” or “no”; they either love or hate you.
Another harsh truth about over-thinkers with a soft, fragile heart is that they care too much about what other people think about them and get easily hurt by their words. Yes, overthinkers analyze every single word that comes out of other people’s mouth. Even if it’s a constructive criticism, they will spend days, even months thinking about why people said that and what’s the real meaning behind their words.
These people carefully listen and think before saying anything. Once they say something, over-thinkers analyze their words because they’ re afraid of making mistakes and don’t want to offend anyone. An over-thinker is too hard on themselves, but they are generous giving many chances to people…even when they don’t deserve those chances.
Over-thinkers want to feel loved and respected. That’s why they don’t set for anything less than real emotions. If they don’t receive the love they give, over-thinkers get hurt and lock themselves in their shell in order to heal.
Some people don’t understand them. They see over-thinkers as “too much”: too sensitive, too analyzing, too nervous, which may be hurtful. However, being an over-thinker means having an extraordinary way of thinking, trying to find the most proper solution to a problem. Moreover, it means curiosity and creativity.
Over-thinkers tend to believe that there’s good in everyone.
Every over-thinker should celebrate their uniqueness. Cheers!
Are you an over-thinker?
