Heartbreaks are painful. They leave us with a cold, broken heart. They drown our hopes and faith in love. When our soul gets shattered and our soft, fragile heart- damaged, we can transform into someone we are not.

Heartbreaks change our lives and make us act differently.

Here are 10 things women who’ve been hurt too many times do unknowingly.

1. They don’t trust people.

They’ve been hurt and disappointed too many times that they don’t share their secrets with anyone. They’ve experienced that people can be mean and use their flaws, insecurities, and fears against them; therefore, these women tend to keep their secrets safe.

2. They don’t believe in real love.

“Forever together” doesn’t make any sense to them anymore. They’ve started many relationships which looked like a fairytale…but they turned into real nightmares at the end. No one kept their promises on eternal love. They feel lost in all that concept of real love.

3. They laugh at romance.

Romance? Should they wait for the prince to fall on his knees in front of their legs? Should they wait for that kiss which promises a happy ending? Nope. That sounds unrealistic to them. They’ll rather say: “Roses are red, violets are blue, romance is disgusting, and so are you.”

4. They flirt with everyone.

The time when they would give their heart to one man is over. No more long-term relationships. No more feelings. No more empty promises. No more tears and pain. These women don’t take life seriously anymore. It’s all about fun.

5. They fall hard for men they can never get.

Celebrities, mostly. At least, these men won’t break their hearts.

6. They put up with toxic people.

These women are so used to pain that they don’t mind call or text their ex and hook up with him. As they want to say: “We’re here, you can hurt us more, and nothing, absolutely nothing can surprise us.”

7. They accept sadness as a part of life.

Sadness and depression are familiar to them; they accept them with both arms wide open. Instead of moving on with their life, they get stuck in their past  They don’t allow happiness to come after the storm.

8. They play with other people’s feelings.

Cold and heartless…they would rather ignore, abandon, or hurt people before they hurt them. But, that’s not their intention. They know how painful it’s to be hurt and just want to protect their heart.

9. They doubt everything.

Millions of questions wander their head. They get suspicious even when they meet someone who is really interested in them and has serious intentions. They constantly search for red flags and think everyone wants to use them.

10. They hope for a great change.

Even though they have been suffering a great pain, these women are still hopeful that they’ll get what they deserve. Above all, we are human beings and crave love.

Love has hurt them, and only love can heal what is broken.
